The Wines of Chile Trade Tasting 2014 offered an opportunity to explore a rich selection of wineries. We were delighted to be there with Vina Santa Carolina who we have successfully represented in Ireland for many years. Viña Santa Carolina is the third largest Chilean Winery and exports their wines to over 90 countries worldwide.
The day comprised of a food and wine pairing master class, a special focus table providing visitors with a chance to compare wines of different vintages and of course lots of wine tasting. The standard of the wines on offer was great!
Favourites on our table
Santa Carolina Merlot Reserva from the Colchagua Valley at the foot of the Andes Mountains was where this wine was born from very old vines which help create rich aromas of red berries and spicy pepper along with delicious flavours of ripe plum and prune -this really stood out against the crowd.
Santa Carolina Sauvignon Blanc Reserva created just 8kms from the Pacific ocean in the cool Leyda Valley region offers Crisp and refreshing mouth-watering wine with grapefruit and gooseberry characters the perfect easy to drink wine that’s sure to impress anyone.
Our Antares Range went down very well we showed the most popular Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc on the day. The trade were impressed on its quality and very competitive independent price point.
We look forward to next year to highlight and showcase more of our fantastic wines.
