It is with great excitement the team at Ampersand would like to announce that we have been appointed by McWilliam’s Wines Group (MWG) to represent their wine portfolio in Ireland. The partnership will see Ampersand Wines distributing McWilliam’s wines and the iconic Mount Pleasant collections in both the off and on-trade.
McWilliam’s Wines Group (MWG) is one of the pioneering wine entities within Australia who have been perfecting the winemaking craft since 1877. With over 140 years of history and an Irish connection, the six consecutive generations of the McWilliam’s family have strived to be at the forefront of Australian wine innovation. From new regions to new styles, MWG continues to push the boundaries delivering wines that are both creative and authentic with an emphasis on freshness and simplicity, from vine to table.

Ampersand have selected three collections from McWilliam's International wine portfolio to bring to the Irish market.
Inheritance Range
The Inheritance range is a selection of four wines which embody the rich history of 140 years of winemaking experience to showcase a collection of elegant, vibrant wines with fruit driven flavours. The range consists of a Chardonnay, Semillon-Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and a Cabernet-Merlot blend, all with an attractive price-point of €9.99. Widely celebrated for its fruit driven, consumer friendly wines, McWilliam’s Inheritance is an everyday drinking style which delivers real value for money.
J.J. McWilliam
John James McWilliam – known as ‘J.J.’ – was a true Australian pioneer who established McWilliam’s first winery in 1913. J.J. McWilliam pioneered the Griffith region as a premium winemaking region and set the foundation of the winery on which six subsequent generations of his family would build. Dedicated to J.J., this range showcases his vision and tenacity which is still carried on today by the McWilliam's family. Retailing at €14.95, the superior quality of these wine is evident, far surpassing their price-points and are expected to be a great hit with Irish wine consumers.
Mount Pleasant Family Collection
Mount Pleasant wines were established by the legendary winemaker Maurice O’Shea, one of the founding fathers of the modern Australian wine industry and are highly regarded amongst some of Australia’s most iconic wines. Mount Pleasant was named Winery of the Year in the Halliday Wine Companion 2017, and its iconic 2011 Maurice O’Shea Shiraz was awarded 99 points and is one of the benchmark wines of Australia.
The Family Range focuses on the unique personality of each of the vineyards at Mount Pleasant and offers superb quality at affordable prices. Popular wines of classic styles, the Elizabeth Semillon and Philip Shiraz will be available through Ampersand and will retail on shelf from €28.

The Ampersand selection offers amazing wines across all price points from one of Australia's leaders in premium regional winemaking and Ampersand are confident Irish consumers will also love these outstanding wines.
