Ampersand have once again struck gold at the Irish Wines Show Awards with two of our wines winning Gold Stars and with an impressive haul of 8 out of the 15 awards awarded on the night to Ampersand we were also the wine company to have received the most awards.
Ampersand were awarded 2 Gold Stars, 3 Silver, and 3 Bronze awards. In excess of 600 wines were submitted to the Star Award adjudication panel of NOffLA judges and independent wine journalists. Points were awarded on the basis of appearance, smell, taste and value for money criteria, and the winning 15 were selected as the best wines from key suppliers across a number of price categories.
In winning 8 awards from over 600 wines submitted and by winning over half the awards on the night these awards are testament to our excellent portfolio of wines that have been carefully selected to meet the current demands of the Irish wine market.
Ampersand won awards for 7 wines within the under €10 category. With very attractive price-points we expect these award winners will be popular with both consumers and retailers in the current competitive market with the awards giving recognition for their high quality and value for money offering. It must also be noted that in the Old World Red Category, Ampersand won all three awards, claiming the Gold Star, Silver Star and the Bronze award.
Willie Dardis, Wine Manager & Buyer also noted, “These awards represents a major boost to the portfolio. This will help to increase sales, to gain new business in both our existing outlets and cerate the opportunity to develop new accounts”.
