The EU wide ban on menthol cigarettes sales came into effect on May the 20th with the following restrcitions;
o The menthol ban applies to menthol cigarettes, capsule, click on, click & roll, dual menthol cigarettes and roll-your-own that comes in the same packaging - excluding cigars, cigarillos and snus.
o The directive does not include mentholated papers and filters sold separately from RYO tobacco products.
o It is now illegal to sell menthol cigarettes.
As menthol cigarette smokers look for alternatives to factory-made cigarettes they are turning to retailers in search of a replacement.
