Ampersand Wines were delighted to be invited by New Zealand Ambassador, Trevor Mallard, to participate in the All Blacks Lunch on November 8th at the Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club. This event, in aid of the IRFU Charitable Trust—which supports seriously injured rugby players and their families—featured special All Blacks guests Ciarán Fitzgerald and Séan Fitzpatrick, hosted by George Hook. Guests enjoyed a selection of New Zealand wines, including our Rimapere Sauvignon Blanc from the Edmond de Rothschild Heritage Collection.
The Rimapere Sauvignon Blanc, born from Benjamin de Rothschild's vision, reflects both French winemaking expertise and New Zealand's unique terroir. Its name, meaning "Five Arrows" in Māori, honours the Rothschild family crest and celebrates New Zealand's cultural heritage.
Also available from the Edmond de Rothschild Heritage Collection is the Akarua Pinot Noir and The Siren from Central Otago’s Bannockburn, where ideal vineyard conditions produce refined, structured wines. Akarua, under the Edmond de Rothschild Heritage Collection, aspires to become New Zealand’s benchmark Pinot Noir, showcasing the elegance, complexity, and finesse of Central Otago’s remarkable terroir.
Together, these selections highlight Edmond de Rothschild Heritage’s commitment to creating world-class wines that celebrate both tradition, innovation and exceptional winemaking.
Guests, including Ampersand Managing Director, Ciarán Scolard (pictured below with Séan Fitzpatrick) enjoyed the afternoon immensely. Ampersand Wines were thrilled to have been part of such a fantastic and enjoyable event amongst such legends.
