Ampersand Wines Win 4 Gold, 1 Silver & 4 Bronze at the Irish Wine Show Awards

AMPERSAND WINES WIN 4 GOLD, 1 SILVER & 4 BRONZE AT THE IRISH WINE SHOW AWARDS

 

Ampersand are thrilled to have won four gold star awards, one silver award and four bronze at the Irish Wine Show Star Awards held on the 30^th of September 2024. In total there were 55 wines on the night that won awards. Ampersand’s 9 wins were across various categories.

 

 

The selection of winning wines was chosen by trained wine tasters using blind tasting techniques. Points were awarded based on appearance, smell, taste, and value for money criteria.

 

 

Having 9 wines in the winning categories is a fantastic achievement by Ampersand, particularly considering that more than 600 wines were submitted to the Star Award Adjudication panel.

Ampersand won 4 GOLD STAR AWARS:

• Parlez Vous Sauvignon Blanc, 2023 – Best Old World White Under €12
• Antares Sauvignon Blanc, 2024 - Best New World White Under €12
• Massey Dacta Sauvignon Blanc, 2023 – Best New World White Under €20
• Prestige de Sacres Champagne Brut, NV – Best Champagne Under €80

 

 

Ampersand also won a SILVER STAR AWARD:

• Pasqua Desire, Lush & Zin Primitivo, 2022 – Best Old World Red Under €20

 

 

Ampersand continued the winning streak with 4 BRONZE STAR AWARDS:

• Perdido Tempranillo, 2022 – Best Old World Red Under €12
• Rioja Vega Blanco, 2023 – Best Old World White Under €12
• Antares Cabernet Sauvignon, 2023 – Best New World Red Under €12
• Rimapere Sauvignon Blanc Baron Edmond de Rothschild, 2023 – Best New World White Under €30

 

 

Now in its twenty fourth year, the winning wines from the Irish Wine Show Star Awards will be available to consumers from NOffLA outlets across Ireland (of which there are more than 315). Ampersand will be promoting these wines at special trade prices and will also have a supporting suite of POS to encourage sell-through instore.

 

 

 

Reflecting on the wins, Wine Buyer, Paul Raftery said, “The awards give us a major boost as we come to the end of 2024. We are delighted with this recognition of our portfolio.”

 

 

The winning wines will be recognisable by distinctive Award symbols on each bottle. In the pre-Christmas period NOffLA members will promote the Irish Wine Show Star Awards 2024-2025 Collection as ideal Christmas gifts, in a variety of special gift packs.
