The last few months have been busy for the Ampersand Wine Department! We are delighted to introduce the fabulous new wines that we have added to our portfolio.
We have added a number of Rosé wines, along with a French range of wines, a Spanish Organic and Vegan range and an exciting new premium Cote de Provence Rosé wine from Rothschild. Some of the below wines are already in stock to order, and the rest are coming in shortly – right in time for summer!
Parles Vouz Malbec and Sauvignon Blanc
As a fantastic value-for-money range, the Parles Vouz wines are an addition we are very happy to now include in our portfolio!
The Malbec is expressive and harmonious, with red fruits. It’s well paired with strong flavoured cheeses and grilled meats. The grapes are harvested when just ripe, destemmed, and pressed gently.
The Sauvignon Blanc is a blend of wines, originating from the Loire Valley and the Languedoc. It’s fresh, round and well-balanced. Expressive floral notes shine through, with hints of boxwood that develop slowly into exotic fruit.
Domaine du Touja Cote De Gascogne
Cotes de Gascogne, Is one of the oldest wine-growing districts in France. Wines are predominantly white and generally made from blend of local varieties, with better known varieties from the North and elsewhere in France.
The Domaine Du Touja is typical of the region, as a blend of local variety, Colombard, with Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
Lively and round with yellow and white peach, pineapple notes and a citrus fruity hint. A well-balanced wine to be served fresh with cold cuts, a sea food platter, or simply as an aperitif.
Soupcon de Fruit Rosé de Loire
This rosé hails from soils of schist and freestone on a slightly sloping plateau in the Loire Valley, as well as the steeper hills of Layon. It’s a delicious blend of Cabernet Franc, Grolleau, and Gamay varieties.
Its elegant long bottle, floral label, and low price point will aid this wine’s success. The bold pattern is also featured on the outer box, which makes it an ideal choice for floor displays.
The palate offers a bouquet of fresh raspberry, cherry, lemon and grapefruit. Light, thirst-quenching, it is a dry and fresh but at the same time flowing and supple.
Cotes-de-Thau Cap D’Adge Désir de Rose
Speaking of eye-catching packaging! This wine’s fun design captures the fun of summer and evokes the delicious feel of a mouthful of cool rosé on a hot summer day.
Cote Du Thau is an IGP title covering wines produced along the shores of the Étang de Thau lagoon in the Languedoc. The landscape is dominated by the former volcano of Adge, providing a unique mix of terror in combination with the sea-edge lagoon.
Fresh aromas of ripe strawberries are supported by notes of zesty citrus fruit and a hint of spice. Mouthwatering and fresh on the palate, with red fruit flavours, medium-bodied with a round mouthfeel. Enjoy chilled as an aperitif or pair with shellfish and fresh salads.
Domaine Petit Candumy Rosé
We have added another French rosé to our portfolio. This one is a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, from the heart of the Var department, between Aix en Provnce and St Tropez, a region with clay-limestone and rocky terroir.
Its aromas of fresh peach, with subtle hint of raspberry and strawberry lend themselves to an elegant wine, ideal to pair with shellfish or summer salad. It’s pretty, and sophisticated, with the flavour to match.
Terrós Organic & Vegan Range
We have a new Spanish rosé, along with a red and white, from the Terrós range. Terrós translates to land or terroir which the wine maker is trying to express in the wines. These wines are 100% organic and 100% vegan.
The Rosé Monastrell is a daring, elegant wine, full of freshness and vivacity. Perfect for lovers of new, unique yet authentic things due to its personality and incomparable taste.
The Garnacha Monastrell Merlot blend has significant qualities of each grape featured, to create the perfect balance. Merlot lends aromas of pepper, black fruits, and truffle, while Monastrell adds the quality of the Mediterranean climate – soft and fruity. Techniques are used that ensure there are not excessive tannins, creating a soft yet complex wine.
The Airen/Sauvignon Blanc is a concentrated wine of great complexity, it’s an assembly of old Airén vines, a Spanish indigenous grape variety, cultivated in the traditional way. Organic agriculture and hand picking during cool morning hours preserve the grapes’ natural integrity. It spends several weeks on the lees to add complexity and depth. It has aromas of peach, apricot, guava, white flowers, and spices, with a hint of butter.
Rothschild Amista Rosé 2023
Ampersand are delighted to distribute Edmond de Rothschild Heritage wines. Rothschild is widely known as one of the best most prestigious wineries in the world. The Amista rosé is a product of the Chateau Robine Rothschild vineyard. Since 1955, Chateau Robine has held the honorary title of “Cru Classé” in Cotes de Provence – a guarantee of excellence within France. The estate benefits from natural drainage and aids cultivation of the vines, with respect for both the environment and tradition. In 2020, the vineyard received its certification in biodynamic agriculture.
The Amista is hailed as “an exceptional rosé and conviviality, fresh and intense”. Produced from the best Crus Classés of Cotes de Provence, Amista is a rare and precious rosé, reflecting the friendship between Ariane de Rothschild and Valerie Rousselle (who restored the Roubine estate in 1994).
It has fresh fruit aromas, accompanied by notes of citrus. On the palate is a beautiful, aromatic elegance. It’s a wine of indulgence and pleasure, with freshness.
